Dun Manus Connemara Pony & Sporthorses

Dun Manus Stud is situated in Broadford, Victoria, 50 minutes north of Melbourne.

The stud focuses on breeding purebred and Connemara crosses with an emphasis on athlethetism and temperment.

This Irish breed of large native pony, is world renowned as a performance mount especially in the jumping disciplines but is also much loved as an all round family pony suitable for grandparents to grandchildren.

Crossing with a suitable Thoroughbred or ASH produces a larger sized animal with the extra bone, toughness, temperment and trainability of a Connemara.

History of Dun Manus Stud.

I have owned Connemara Ponies since my childhood in Ireland and established Dun Manus Stud in 2000 at Broadford.

The name 'Dun Manus' came from an old west coast sailing boat restored by my father and grandfather and is derived from the Irish or Gaelic language. It translates simply as the place or dwelling of Manus (Manus being the name of one of our multitudes of Irish saints).

Stallion and breeding mares.

Stallion:  Colmaur Kasey, grey 13.3hh out of the lovely imported mare Chiltern Martina by Blandings Bobby.

Casey is a very good example of the versatility of the Connemara displaying his calm temperment and eye catching movement both in harness and under saddle and is passing on these positive traits to his pure & partbred progeny.

He is standing to selected outside mares.
